I am currently preparing my first ever email newsletter, which will be both friendlier and more informative than what you can currently read here. A link to that will appear here on this page soon (end of September 2026). In the meantime, a brief news summary:
2026-27 Season highlights:
- I am featured as the “Portrait” composer at the Festival d’automne (Paris)—info here
- I am composer-in-residence with the BBC Philharmonic (Manchester)—info here
- I fill the Louis Andriessen Chair at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague (Netherlands)
Recent news:
- I was awarded the 2025 Kunstpreis Berlin (Berlin Art Prize), Music, by the Akademie der Künste (Academy of Arts) on behalf of the Senate of Berlin. The jury statement can be read here.
- In 2025 I taught at Stanford University for three months as Lecturer (in a position created for me). I developed a rather confounding course “Composition as Embodied Research” and taught composition lessons and seminars.
